Great! Very descriptive and accurate. What do we do about it?

The unfortunate thing is

The unfortunate thing is that this country was founded by business people that were sick of paying taxes that is why an income tax did not happen here till recently. This country has always been about making money, and those that were really good at it now control pretty much everything. That is the biggest problem with Capitalism, the commodification of everything, including people, our health and well being. The greediest group does the best at the expense of the many that are wage slaves.

So what do we do? The same thing the people in Egypt are doing! But we like our SUV's too much to give up any comforts for the sake of freedom. What we are asked to do instead is to give up our freedom for the sake of "security"

Accurate, illuminating, and

Accurate, illuminating, and painful!

What happened to that "change" theme from Senator Obama? Why has the misery index just continued to increase - as Wall Street recovers and collects record profits? Why do we still have the Bush tax code, Defense Secretary, war policy, and bank bailouts? We're a plutocracy!

Let's just say it's time for democracy to come to America!

All these comments indicate

All these comments indicate that some people get it, they understand the negative direction of US history and western culture from the Reagan "Revolution" to the present. But they also, perhaps unconsciously, illustrate the coming new movement that is gaining power. For an encouraging insight into this new movement, read Jim Kenney's "Thriving in the Crosscurrent: Clarity and Hope in a Time of Cultural Sea Change".
