"We have to build that independent left. It has to be so strong and so radical and so militant and so powerful that it becomes irresistible."

Who better to say such a thing than Naomi Klein, Nation columnist, author of The Shock Doctrine and No Logo, and longtime rabblerouser? Naomi makes a special visit to the GRITtv studio to talk about the recent G20 meetings in her hometown of Toronto, about Obama's recent return to a kind of populism, the looming midterm elections in the U.S., her reporting on the BP disaster in the Gulf, and what we can do to channel the growing rage in this country and in the world into a true progressive movement.

Ms. Klein makes a good

Ms. Klein makes a good cheerleader, not just cute.

I've respected Naomi for

I've respected Naomi for years. Brains, beauty and a fighting spirit coupled with a correctly-pointing moral compass...wow.

Hurray for Naomi! Let's put

Hurray for Naomi! Let's put her on her own show in prime time. No lies, no half-truths, and a splendid mind for reasoning, thinking, formulating. We need this kind of leadership. We all need to learn to be this articulate and well-informed to take on the tunnel-brains when we engage them in conversation.

I agree with "Hurray For

I agree with "Hurray For Naomi." Ms. Klein is the finest progressive thinker in North America.

Hey, PBS, I'm callin' you out. You're all the time asking for money, but we don't get to see Naomi Klein very often, do we?

The McLaughlin Report, however??
No problem. Every week.

It's time for a first class mind to replace Bill Moyers.

I vote (with my wallet) for Naomi Klein.

I agree, Naomi is the best

I agree, Naomi is the best progressive out there. I'd put her up against Rush any day of the week. She'd smoke his fat, arrogant ass within seconds.

The lesson of the tea party

The lesson of the tea party is clear: Since third parties haven't been viable of late, it's necessary to take over the big parties from inside. We need to do to the Democrats what the tea party has done to the GOP. Pull them to the left, get rid of the blue dogs, remake them in our image.

Naomi is my present day

Naomi is my present day hero, absolutely brilliant... and the best representative of the middle class that I can think of.
If you have not read "The Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Klein published I think in 2007, You are walking around in the dark IMO.
I already knew many of the facts and quotes contained in the book, (HUGE Bibliography), but seeing the big picture opened my eyes.
I think it is the most important book of our time, there will be people discussing this already international bestseller in the next century.
You owe yourself the truth.
