Don't we, while drinking, tell our kids "never touch the stuff". I suggest our real problem that capitalism only works when there is an environment that contains wealth to steal. After the trees are cut down, the streams drained, the animals murdered, the gold dug, the only game left is to mess with the residue, say, flip used houses. Perhaps our only way out of the lies (and doesn't a successful President who needs to borrow $3B each day just to keep going, necessarily become a lier—just what would YOU pitch to a rich guy to stick another $3B down the sewer) is to define a new economic system that could work on a planet after the looters rot. Nice warm 65 F in Boulder today (like mid January), in case you haven't noticed.

Actually, Obama is responsible for the deaths of over 10,000 people, mostly civilian, in Pakistan and Afghanistan during his first two years in office. That's over 9994 more than Jared Lee Loughner accounts for. Since our leaders have no respect for human life, how can we be surprised when others follow their example?

Tom Hoobler, that's just the thing. Their cynical steadfast sanity allows them to use a situation like this to crack down on local dissent while committing egregious atrocities abroad with the support or at the behest of megacorporations. They see no hypocrisy in this as they feel the law is for the commoners and they are above it. It's sick. They kill be remote control, they use weapons that turn children into not much more than hamburger meat in front of everyone's eyes and the blithly remind us about the "costs" of war. The politicians and elites are if anything, an example of exactly what humanity should not be in this world. Their greed, arrogance and hypocrisy is sickening to witness. Like pigs at a trough and yet they then lecture the citizens on manners.
