For the past ten years, BuzzFlash has been a hallmark of the independent media community, providing headlines, news and commentary for a geographically diverse, pro-democracy, anti-hypocrisy web audience. Now, BuzzFlash is joining the Truthout community.

On August 1, BuzzFlash.com's editor, Mark Karlin, joined Truthout's staff, bringing BuzzFlash along with him.

Bringing BuzzFlash into the Truthout family - and making it a part of our growing nonprofit organization - will enable us to amplify our voice and strengthen the independent media movement.

This is the type of collaboration that the progressive community needs urgently in these difficult times. The addition of BuzzFlash will allow us to spread our message further and grow in impact.

Adding BuzzFlash material to Truthout's site means a wider range of offerings: a news aggregation service that provides the latest important headlines from around the Internet, a slate of renowned commentators and more opportunities for community interaction.

Over the next month, we'll be gradually incorporating BuzzFlash features into Truthout's site. We look forward to bringing you an even more comprehensive lineup of news and opinion on a daily basis - and advancing progressive values with renewed vigor.
